[성명] 트럼프 대통령의 호르무즈 해협 파병 요구, 결코 동의하지 않을 것입니다.(2026.03.16)

트럼프 대통령이 대한민국을 지목해 호르무즈 해협에 군 함정 파병을 요구했습니다.

대한민국헌법 제5조제1항은 "대한민국은 국제평화의 유지에 노력하고 침략적 전쟁을 부인한다"고 명시하고 있습니다. 우리 군을 파병하는 것은 우리 헌법 정신에 정면으로 위배되는 행위입니다.

우리 군과 우리 국민을 남의 나라 전쟁에 내몰 수는 없습니다.

호르무즈 해협에서의 군사행동에 참여하는 순간, 대한민국은 이란의 직접적인 타격 대상이 될 것입니다. 이는 우리 기업과 재외 동포, 영사 시설의 안전을 포기하는 위험천만한 일입니다.

동맹의 이름으로 자국의 이익만을 강요하는 트럼프 대통령의 태도, 대단히 유감스럽니다.

이번 파병 요구는 동맹국에 대한 최소한의 예의도 없는 요구입니다.

대한민국 국회는 국익과 헌법 가치를 수호하기 위해, 이러한 무리한 파병 요청에 결코 동의하지 않을 것입니다.

President Trump has formally requested the Republic of Korea to deploy naval vessels to the Strait of Hormuz.

However, Article 5, Paragraph 1 of the Constitution of the Republic of Korea clearly stipulates: “The Republic of Korea shall endeavor to maintain international peace and shall renounce aggressive wars.” Deploying our armed forces under these circumstances would run counter to the spirit of our Constitution. We cannot, and will not, send our military and our citizens into another nation’s war.

The moment we engage in military operations in the Strait of Hormuz, the Republic of Korea would inevitably become a direct target of Iranian retaliation. Such a move would place our companies, overseas nationals, and diplomatic missions at grave risk. It is deeply regrettable that, in the name of the alliance, President Trump is pressing for a deployment that prioritizes his country’s own interests. This request disregards the fundamental courtesy expected between sovereign allies.

To defend our national interests and constitutional values, the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea will not consent to such an unreasonable request for deployment.
